EA Games Derby
Yesterday EA Games (which was formerly known as Criterion Software) closed their Derby office casting some very good friends of mine into the world of unemployment. These highly skilled people have been toyed with for the last two years, uncertain when or even if the powers that be at the head office in Guildford were going to close the Derby office down. But then that's how the old Criterion have always played it, they have shown time and time again that they consider their employees to be nothing more than faceless, feelingless resources. Now those friends of mine will have to find ways of supporting their families, paying their mortgages, while the brown nosed CEOs in Guildford continue to live their lavish, overpaid lifestyles without a second thought for the loyal workers in Derby they left behind. The ones, I might add, who stayed with the company when so many others jumped ship. |
